Montaha Hidefi, color trends and forecaster, author, writer and public speaker was born in El Tigre, Venezuela, to a Syrian immigrant family. She grew up in San Fernando de Apure in the “llanos” (the plaines) on the banks of the Apure river. The “llanos” is a tropical grassland ecoregion situated to the east of the Andes where flowers, coconut trees and colorful tropical fruits are abundant.
Due to her parents’ background, Montaha spent her teens in the southern province of Al Sweida in Syria where she learned Arabic and experienced the biggest cultural shock one can ever imagine.
In the early nineties, she migrated to Montreal in Canada where she lived for seven years. She then traveled to Dubai for a month vacation that lasted eleven successful years. In 2008 she relocated to the Netherlands with her husband Michael to join one of the biggest special effect pigments as a Global Color Advisor, and in 2010, she relocated to Guelph, Ontario in Canada, to join an Austrian powder coating company as Marketing Manager for North America.
Montaha joined the Color Marketing Group in 2007 through which she transformed her love to color into a career in color trends and forecasting.
Being living as an expat (alien, immigrant) her entire life, she built a fascination for traveling and exploring the world. She has been blessed with jobs that allowed her to travel and enjoy other cultures. She has been to 59 countries and is fluent in 5 languages: Spanish, English, French, Arabic and Italian.
Montaha currently lives with her husband in Guelph, Ontario, Canada.
